Electrical Engineer - PV

Overview

Unisun Energy is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for engineering and design of large-scale solar PV installations (>10MW) across Europe. You will work closely with PV engineers during the development phase to ensure a smooth transition once the project reaches the construction phase.

We are looking for a team player and a skilled multi-tasker.

Responsibilities 

  • Design AC installation for large-scale PV projects (ground mount, rooftop & floating)
  • Analyse, calculate and optimise electrical AC systems
  • Prepare technical feasibility studies
  • Short-circuit calculations
  • Design and prepare layouts, substations, PV support substructures
  • Prepare technical requisitions and specifications
  • AC cabling (calculation, sizing, routing, trenching etc.)
  • Prepare full technical package (drawings and documents) for project execution
  • Preparation of test protocols
  • Technical support to business development, project management, procurement and site teams

Reporting

The Electrical Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager

Location

This position will be based in our headquarters in Rotterdam.

Qualifications & competencies

  • Bachelor Electrical Engineering Degree
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role preferably in the PV industry
  • Experience with Medium Voltage (<23kV) installations
  • Experience with relevant software programs like AutoCAD, Intelec or similar
  • Good knowledge of relevant National and International design standards
  • Familiar with requirements of grid operators
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Fluent in English language and Dutch
  • VCA++ certificate is preferred
  • Driving license B

Unisun Energy is seeking an experienced engineering manager to join our operations team to lead a team of engineers. The right candidate will oversee EPC operations across ground mount, rooftop, floating and carport solar PV solutions.

Responsibilities

The engineering manager will plan, direct, and coordinate engineering activities across projects to ensure that objectives are achieved, on time and within budget.

  • Determine and define project scope and objectives

O&M Supervisor - PV

Overview

Our O&M company, Uper Energy is seeking to expand its Romanian team. The new O&M supervisor will be responsible for supporting O&M activities across the Alternus Energy Romanian portfolio. The right candidate shall preferably have Romanian roots and a good understanding of Romanian culture & customs. The right candidate will work alongside the Uper Energy O&M.

Responsibilities 

  • Communicate and liaise with the Uper Energy senior management based in Rotterdam
  • Ensure best possible performance of the PV plants
  • Perform daily monitoring of the plants through the online monitoring portal
  • Provide support to the annual maintenance activities in line with the annual maintenance plan
  • Provide support to the quarterly preventative maintenance activities
  • Undertake periodical site visits
  • Communicate with and manage the local O&M operators / subcontractors

  • Experience with software programs Meteocontrol (VCOM) and PVsyst (or equivalent) is required.
