On 5 July 2021, a roundtable discussion took place to kick off installation of the solar park at Rotterdam the Hague Airport.  CEO of Unisun Energy, Andre Kempenaars, led the discussion with Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management, Cora van Nieuwenhuijzen alongside President & CEO of the Royal Schiphol Group, Dick Benschop.

Once operational, the 13.63 megawatt (MW) project will produce more than 13,000 megawatt hours (MWh) of clean energy annually and O&M services will be provided by Unisun’s subsidiary, Uper Energy BV.

The project brings together several stakeholders. Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTHA) is the site of the project, Rotterdam the Hague Innovation Airport is involved to support innovative and sustainable projects at RTHA and Eneco will provide the power purchase agreement for electricity produced by the solar park.
