There will be a roundtable discussion regarding the construction of a solarpark at Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTHA) and a kick-off of the Smart Energy System (SES). Imagine RTHA to be the take-off and landing place of the very first zero-emission airplane. A development which, if it is up to RHIA, RTHA, Unisun Energy and Eneco, will happen in the near future. There is a wide spread ambition from the sector, politics and civilization to make international aviation sustainable. In Rotterdam they are putting their money where their mouth is. They will start with the construction of a solarpark located parallel to the runway which will supply RTHA with zero-emission electricity of approximately 4,000,000 kWh on an annual basis. Also the surrounding areas, 2,600 homes, will profit from the sustainably generated electricity. To really put the energy to good use RTHA is working on the realization of a smart energy system for storage an regulating the energy flows, or Smart Energy System (SES).
We would like to celebrate the start of the construction of the RTHA solar PV park and the kick-off of the SES. We therefore invite you to a roundtable discussion via a live stream on Monday 5th July from 11:00 to 14:00h CET. After placing of the first solar panel outgoing Minister Cora van Nieuwenhuijzen will take a seat at the table together with Dick Benschop, president-director of the Royal Schiphol Group and Andre Kempenaars, CEO of Unisun Energy.
The livestream will be interactive, your online participation and active input will be much appreciated. In case a colleague, or others are interested, please do not hesitate to forward this invitation. Registration can be done until 2nd July 2021 via https://stichtingrhia.nl/rhia-event/.
