Unisun Energy BV has successfully energised the Rilland solar park. Located on the banks of the Schelde-Rijn canal in Rilland, the 11.75 megawatt peak (MWp) project was developed and installed by Unisun Energy BV in collaboration with the landowner, Chris Hopmans. Installation began in 2018 and was completed in 2019.
40,000 bifacial (double sided) modules were installed on the site that shares its location, but not a grid connection, with a 15 MW wind farm. The project is supported by the Dutch subsidy SDE+ with an offtake agreement in place.
The project supplies clean energy to power more than 4,000 households annually and contributes towards sustainability targets for the local municipality of Reimerswaal. O&M services are provided by Uper Energy BV.
